Having to find a new mechanic after 25 years can be a daunting task.It was for me. I tried a few stations and was not at all satisfied with the quality of service.I was just driving by Yates one afternoon and decided to go in and talk to them.The manager on duty listened to the issues of the problematic AC and I decided to take a chance. The repairs were done and I will go back again when the car needs servicing.

I have nothing but good things to say about Yates' customer care. A few weeks ago, I had my Jeep towed to their location to get an estimate on work, and it turned out that the repairs were covered under warranty at the last place I had the truck repaired. I was on and off the phone with several different employees from Yates, including the owner, and they were very helpful - holding my car until it could get towed to the other location and walking me through the problems that they had located, with no charge to me. Today, I received a follow up call from John Yates, the owner, checking in to see that everything had worked out (something the other car place had not bothered to do!). 4 stars because I cannot speak to their repair work, but I will say that I will always bring my car here in the future -blown away by their customer care!

Honest and reliable. Always fixed on time. Also noticed a serious safety problem with the tires and advised me how to deal with it.

The Yates family is everywhere in Alexandria and for good reason, they do a great job. First of all, everyone in the shop is so nice and welcoming. Their customer service is excellent. The job they did on my car was superior, it looks brand new for a fair price. It's an automotive gem on the corner of Mt. Vernon Avenue and Braddock Road!

Moved to the DC area just about 3 months ago, and I'm glad to say that I have found a reliable and honest mechanic. I brought my car in for brake repairs and AC repairs, both times the owner (Mr. Yates) walked me through all of my options and gave me his honest opinion. Car works great now!

Honest and reliable service.

There is not a nicer, more friendly set of gas station attendants in town. Even for the most simple of tasks, the employees are super helpful. Today I was checking my tired before embarking on a road trip and a young guy came out and offered his help. Kudos to the good folks at Yates!

Great, reliable service. I love these guys. They are so helpful and go above and beyond to serve their customers. I was having some work done on my car and it was going to be later then expected and I needed to get home. They offered to personally drive me home or give me a loaner car for the night- no strings attached. Their work is great and they are honest and not trying to scam you or confuse you into doing more work then you need on your car. I know I can trust them to give me the right advise and do a good job. I also love that you barely need an appointment - they are extremely accommodating! I love the family vibe of the place. I truly feel like the Yates family is serving it's community and that is their mission. Even though I moved out of Del Ray I still bring my car here!

Had to have my power steering system rebuilt. They were able to get it done in one day. They also did a great job detailing my truck. Competitive prices and friendly staff.
